You have nailed it, Sir. As I have gotten older, I have become far more politiclly active. I am considering running for public office sometime soon. But we have come so far down this slippery slope as a nation, that I am not entirely sure we can fix it. We have endured a long list of "abuses and usurpations" for most of our lives (I am 64).
